Built by a maker, run by a licensed contractor
Fig & Fern is a design-build company in downtown Lakeland, led by founder Dennis Ward.
Hi, I'm Dennis
I've been making things since I was a kid building skateboard ramps in the backyard, and later through painting and other creative work. That same love of making is what Fig & Fern is built on.
I'm a husband, a father, and a licensed Certified Building Contractor. I believe a good project is planned carefully, communicated clearly and built precisely, so I lead every one myself, from the first layout to the final walkthrough. You won't be handed off and left wondering what's happening.
We design and build pergolas, composite decks, paver patios, outdoor kitchens and lighting for homes across Lakeland and Central Florida.
- Licensed Certified Building Contractor, license CBC1265301
- 3D design and full architectural drawings on every build
- Official Luxury Pergolas partner
- TimberTech decking installer
- Founded in 2020, building in Florida since 2021

Dennis and his team are great. They did our commercial project - they were efficient, fairly priced, and did beautiful work from design to execution. I'd definitely work with them again!
Dennis is a true artist in his designs and products. I highly recommend Fig and Fern for your future projects.
